Tackling the Menopause – Naturally
Are you dreading the menopause? Are you already experiencing problems because you are perimenopausal? You are not alone: all women experience the menopause – it’s a natural change in the female reproductive system and normally takes place between the ages of 45 or 55.
What is the Menopause?
The word ‘menopause’ specifically means the end of periods but it is the falling level of the sex hormones oestrogen and progesterone in the body, as the ovaries stop working, that results in the physical and emotional problems we associate with this phase of women’s lives.
You may be lucky: some women experience few or no problems. But others suffer a great deal for several years. On top of the physical symptoms, the menopause often coincides with the emotional upheaval of children growing up and leaving home, causing women to feel a loss of identity and focus.
What are the symptoms of the Menopause?
Hot flushes and night sweats are two well-known and common physical symptoms of this temporary hormonal imbalance. Periods may become irregular, heavier or lighter before they stop entirely.
Other side-effects are general tiredness and depression, irritability, broken sleep, memory lapses and a lack of interest in sex. Vaginal dryness can make sex very uncomfortable and you may be more susceptible to vaginal and urinary infections.

The good news is that all these symptoms are temporary and treatable but the long-term effects of declining hormone levels include greater risk of osteoporosis and heart disease for some women, so you should not ignore this fundamental process in a woman's life.
The team of highly experienced therapists at Cheshire Natural Health encourage all women to improve their general health and wellbeing, especially if they are approaching or going through the menopause.

Treatment Plan to help support women |
through this often difficult time. The Clinic wants all women to become more aware of the impact of the menopause and to take steps to boost their energy.
Tracey Turton, Clinic Director at Cheshire Natural Health, says:
“The menopause is a natural part of every woman’s life and should be prepared for, not dreaded.
Sadly many women do experience terrible menopausal symptoms that can be extremely debilitating. We want to show women they are not alone and that there is a natural way through this difficult time.
Hormone imbalances can have a huge impact on a woman’s life and many are disinclined to undergo hormone replacement therapy (HRT), preferring a more natural approach.” |
