Reflexology and the Menopause
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a painless therapy that involves applying precise pressure to specific points on the feet, ankles and hands.
These points, or ‘reflexes’, correspond to all parts of the body and a treatment would typically focus on the points associated with problem areas, as well as general ones.
During a treatment, circulation, energy flow, nerve and glandular systems are stimulated to help restore the body’s own natural balance by helping to eliminate toxins and encouraging the body to revitalise itself.
Reflexology treats the whole person and not the symptoms of disease, so most people benefit from it. This gentle therapy brings relief to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
How does it work?
Reflexology aims to ‘rebalance’ the body by inducing deep relaxation, improving circulation, facilitating removal of toxins from the body, reducing pain, calming the nervous system and increasing energy levels.
The Reflexologist’s sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and any imbalances at the reflex points in the feet, freeing blockages, soothing away tension and restoring the flow of energy to the whole body.
How can Reflexology help with Menopause?
Hormonal imbalances, including menopausal symptoms, respond particularly well to reflexology. You should find that within a very short time your symptoms will improve substantially. |

Tracey Turton observes:
““It is an amazing treatment which not only alleviates specific health concerns, but also leads to an overall improvement in general wellbeing.
Patients report significant reduction in hot flushes, improved libido, reduced anxiety and improved sleep. They have more energy, are able to concentrate better and their memory improves.
Basically, they generally feel much better in themselves!”
How long does the treatment last?
Each treatment usually lasts around an hour and an initial course of 4 to 6 treatments would be recommended to build on the initial rebalancing process.
Once the body is in tune, we’d also suggest that you have a monthly maintenance treatment to maintain your wellbeing through the menopause. |
